Resurfacing Countertops, Tubs, and Tile with

is a versatile coating for refinishing laminate, cultured marble and tile countertops, ceramic tile and showers, in addition to fiberglass and acrylic tub enclosures and surrounds, garden type whirlpool tubs and cultured marble fixtures of all kinds.

WHY SHOULD I RESURFACE MY COUNTERTOPS WITH ?
The most common reason that customers resurface their countertops is to change the color. However, Resurfacing Co. can also repair cracked, scratched or otherwise damaged plastic laminate, cultured marble or tile before we refinish your countertops.

is available in solid colors or in multi colored stone patterns and it is applied over your existing countertop. The color, pattern and texture can be changed without expense and inconvenience of replacement. is durable and will last for many years. But, if you do damage the new finish, it can be repaired.

WHAT KIND OF FINISH IS IT?
is an aliphatic acrylic polyurethane coating. This type of two part catalyzed coating that was originally developed for NASA and the aerospace industry a number of years ago. It is now used in many industries when an extremely hard, abrasion resistant finish is needed.

WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS?
We start with thorough preparation. After making sure that the countertop is completely clean and free of contaminants, we aggressively sand the plastic laminate or cultured marble countertop. Sanding removes any gloss and enables a mechanical bond between the existing countertop and the new finish.

Next, we repair any significant chips, cracks or holes in your countertop. After masking around the countertops, sink, cabinets and adjacent walls and the floor, we thoroughly clean the countertop once again before applying the new finish. Your new countertops are ready for use the next day!

HOW DO I FIGURE THE COST?
Pricing is by the linear foot. In other words, the exact width of your countertop doesn't figure into the price. Measure the length of your countertop, from one end of the countertop to the other. If you have an "L" or "U" shaped counter, be sure not to double count the areas where the two sides intersect. See the diagram below.

We have a minimum charge of $380 for kitchen countertops. For that price we will resurface up to 13 running feet of countertop length. For the purpose of pricing, the countertop in the illustration above would measure 13 ft. - not 15 ft. Assuming the backsplash was no more than 5" high (we don’t charge for a backsplash that is only a few inches high), the total cost to resurface this countertop with would be $380!

Longer countertops would be $380. (the minimum charge) plus $22. per linear foot for each foot over 13.

WHAT ABOUT MY HIGH BACKSPLASH?
If your backsplash goes all of the way up to the bottom of your upper cabinets, we charge an additional $10 per linear foot for the high backsplash. In the example shown above, there is 15 lineal feet of backsplash so the cost would be and additional $150.

Don't have a high backsplash, but wish you did? After preparing the surface, we can apply to the drywall or paneling below your cabinets and you'll have one!

WHAT ABOUT THE SQUARE EDGES ON MY LAMINATE COUNTERTOP?
CAN THEY BE CHANGED TO SOMETHING MORE ROUNDED AND MODERN?

Yes. We can provide a rounded or stylized profile to your squared off laminate countertop edges that will make them difficult to distinguish from solid surface countertops after they are complete. Prices for this work vary, depending upon the specific application.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?
Most kitchen countertops can be resurfaced in less than 8 hours. However, the countertop should not be used for 24 hours afterward.

CAN I RESURFACE MY WALL TILE ?
Yes. The reason that most customers resurface their tile is to change the color. Many bathrooms have tile that is in good shape, but the color is out-of-date. They are tired of having to decorate around old colors like pink, peach, green, and yellow, but cracked tile can be repaired and resurfaced to look like new without the cost of replacement. The new finish is strong and durable enough to last for many years.

WHAT ABOUT THE GROUT?
The finish is applied as a liquid and covers the grout lines as well. The result is that the grout will be the same color as the tile. Your tile will retain the visual definition of the grout lines so it will still look like ceramic tile, but after resurfacing, the grout will be sealed and as easy to clean as the tile itself. Problems with mildew and mold growing on the porous grout are gone!

HOW DO I CARE FOR THE NEW FINISH?
You should avoid using abrasive cleaners like Comet, Ajax, or Bon Ami. However, you won't need to use abrasive cleaners since the new finish will be non-porous and very easy to wipe clean. See our Care and Cleaning page for more information.

DOES THE PROCESS SMELL?
Yes. The smell is pretty strong for a few hours, but about an hour after applying it no longer emits any odors. In most cases, the smell from the resurfacing process will dissipate completely after several hours.

IS THE NEW FINISH GUARANTEED?
Yes - Resurfacing Co. guarantees bathtubs, showers, tile and countertops resurfaced for 6 years against fading, peeling, or crazing. See our Warranty page for details. In Bryan College Station, Texas call us today for a free estimate on countertop, bathtub, garden tub or shower refinishing!
